I have gotten to do some amazing things in my life. Honestly, if it turns out that my race is run sooner than later, I can be content with what I’ve managed but there are some things on my To-Do list I’d like to do before I go. Some of these things seem plausible. Others are long shots. I am also only posting game related goals here. I have others ;)

In no particular order:

  • Create a game for kids and have it produced in sufficient quantity to donate to hospitals and shelters.

  • Win an award. I have won a few such as the ‘Best Gamemaster’ from the Austin Chronicle a few years back but nothing from my own industry like an RPGA nod. It would be nice. Maybe I can win a Peace Prize for NUkED ;)

  • Build a fantasy town in 28mm.

  • Create and perform a one man show about my life as a game designer (it’s about 1/3rd written).

  • Get one of my social media accounts up to 4k followers. I was once told the only thing I needed to secure a gig I wanted was 4k followers so I have become kind of fixated on it.

  • Run games in as many countries as possible.

  • Create and host a live play style theatrical game.

  • Run a horror game in a graveyard, haunted house or someplace with similar vibes. The resort they used for the Overlook hotel is out here in Portland. That would do nicely. Maybe the Driskill in Austin. Annie and Johnette can’t both be wrong ;)

  • Have one of my ttrpgs translated into Japanese and run it in Japan.

  • Create a board game that becomes a favorite of one or both of my kids. It would be a great way to be remembered.

  • Finally create my white whale - a fantasy ttrpg. No one needs yet another one but nothing has ever suited all of my preferences so I have an itch to make my statement. Its been a half century coming.

My first draft of this list included several ‘run a game for a celebrity’ kind of entries. I have run for a few (so far Todd Stashwick was far and away the most fun) . In most cases it was both fun and memorable, but going back over the rest of my list it’s not really all that important to me. That said, I’d love to have Stephen Colbert, Judi Dench, Patton Oswalt, Deborah Ann Woll and/or Brian Posehn at my table.

If you can help me get any closer to any of my goals I would be eternally grateful :)
